Ex-president Muhammadu Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari was quickly shielded today by security agents in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, when missiles flew towards the podium as he raised the hand of All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer for the governorship election, Mr Dapo Abiodun.

The programme, at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Abeokuta, was brought to an abrupt end as the President’s aides and other party leaders fenced off the objects thrown by members of Allied Peoples Movement (APM) who are Abiodun’s rival after the Ogun State governor, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun had washed the parties’ dirty linen in the public when he declared support for Buhari and opposed his party’s governorship flagbearer.

Amosun was openly condemned by the former governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

Aregbesola described those behind APM as Alagabagebe (Hypocrites).

Amosun had openly showed while speaking at the rally that he would not allow Abiodun to be presented as the APC flagbearer.

APC leaders, including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, Rotimi Amaechi, and southwest governors were uneasily calm as they endured the effrontery of the intruders who shoved APM posters in their faces.
