Former Information Minister, Chief Alex Akinyele, is dead.
One of his daughters, Abimbola, who confirmed the death to NewsmakersNG, said the Ondo High Chief died at a hospital in the town yesterday night during a brief illness.
Abimbola who said she was by her father’s side at the time of his death, added that he had been receiving treatment at home for an undisclosed ailment but was taken to the hospital yesterday night after his condition deteriorated.
She said he died few minutes after he got to the hospital.
Akinyele marked his 81st birthday in April.
