Breaking: Air Travellers to US Must Provide Negative COVID-19 Result

Pat Stevens/

The US government will demand negative COVID-19 result from all passengers before they board a flight into the country, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.

The new rule will also affect US citizens.

According to the report, the US Center for Disease Control Prevention (CDC) plans to issue its order on Tuesday and will go into effect on January 26th, 2021.

Last week the US imposed a testing requirement for travelers from the United Kingdom over cases of a new strain of the virus which has also been reported in the US.

Ireland also announced new travel rules which require visitors into the country to provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours before arriving in the country.
