Journalist-activist, Mr. Chido Onumah, has been released from the custody of the Department of State Services.
NewsmakersNG learnt that Onumah, who is a member of the editorial board of online news medium, Premium Times, was released about 30 minutes ago.
Onumah was reportedly arrested at the Abuja airport earlier this evening.
It was reported that Onumah had just returned to Nigeria from Spain, where he had obtained a PhD in communication studies.
He reportedly arrived via a Lufthansa airline and was waiting for his luggage at about 5.00pm when DSS officials accosted him.
Onumah is the author of a book titled, ‘We Are All Biafrans.’
