The Federal Government has ordered two Assistant Inspectors General of Police and four commissioners of police to watch over Ogun State during the elections on Saturday.
Police spokesman, ACP Frank Mba, confirmed to NewsmakersNG that the present AIG in charge of Zone ‘2’ headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, Mr Lawal Shehu and Ogun State CP, Ahmed Iliyasu, would be assisted by one other AIG and three CPs who will man the Senatorial districts in the state.
The team of CPs included Mr Gbenga Adeyanju (Ogun Central), Mr Fimihan Adeoye (Ogun West) and Yemi Agunbiade (Ogun East).
AIG David Oyebanji Folawiyo would man Zone ‘2’ headquarters supervising Lagos and Ogun as AIG Shehu moves to Ogun State capital, Abeokuta.
Mba, however, noted that Ogun State is not alone in this special arrangement which is done to ensure peace in states perceived to be hot spots.
