Breaking: 116 Staff Now COVID-19 Positive in Oyo Company

Twenty seven more workers at iSON Xperiences in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, have tested positive for COVID-19.

Governor Seyi Makinde made this known via Twitter at 11pm today.

iSON Xperiences provides customer care services for some telecoms companies in the country.

A total of 116 confirmed COVID-19 cases have now been recorded in the company.

Makinde had first confirmed 30 COVID-19 positive cases for the company last Saturday, and by yesterday the number of cases in the said company had risen to 89.

The governor tweeted, “Also, the COVID-19 confirmation tests for thirty suspected cases came back POSITIVE. Twenty-seven cases are from iSON Xperiences and one each from Ibadan SW, Ibadan SE and Oluyole Local Govt Areas. So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State as at 5.30PM today is 233.”

The governor also said nine persons were discharged, bringing the total number of recoveries to 58.
