Brazil’s ex-President, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has been released from police detention following a determinative injunction from Brazil’s Supreme Court.
NewsmakersNG learnt that the injunction stated that no one should be imprisoned until all possibilities of appeals are allowed according to international human rights law.
“I will continue fighting for justice,” the former president said while addressing the public after his release from police custody.
The former leftist President who was jailed 12 years for corruption practices was released at exactly 5 pm from the police custody after almost 2 years in prison.
