Nigeria’s celebrated pop king, Innocent Ujah Idibia aka 2Baba, is set to receive a reception fit for a King in Brazil on his first-ever international music tour to the Latin American country.
2Baba, who has made a mark as one of the most decorated and successful Afro pop artists in Africa, and also one of the most bankable performing music artistes in Africa is expected to perform on October 4, at Tropical, in Butantã, Brazil as part of his 20 years anniversary in the entertainment industry.
“This is going to be a show fit for a President and shall be the first of its kind in the history of Nigeria and Brazil. We have only danced to Fela and Femi Anikulapo Kuti. We are set to dance to the music of the present African pop king come October,” Jabuti Souza, a player in the entertainment industry, told NewsmakersNG.
A Brazil-based Nigerian artiste known as Lumi, told NewsmakersNG: “2Face Baba will conquer Brazil.”
Lumi, a one-time finalist of the Brazilian television version of “The Voice Brazil” who lives and sings in the Latin American country will also share the night with his diversified music talents singing in both English and Portuguese. A talented singer, writer and composer, Lumi who combines pop, blues and Afro beats is the only Nigerian singer who has released albums in both English and Portuguese with great success in Brazil and in the Americas.
As the date for the show in Brazil is fast approaching, Nigerians and all other foreign communities in Brazil are already warming up while rehearsing and teaching the dance steps of the African king all together with several of the Brazilian dance groups that will grace the occasion.
