Adeyinka Olaiya, Sao Paulo, Brazil/

A group of Nigerians in Brazil queued behind the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar this weekend at a convention in Sao Paulo.

“It is time for PDP. It is time for Atiku. It’s time for Peter Obi; it’s time for a real change,” members of the group chorused in unison at the event organized by the PDP, Brazil chapter, to launch a new slogan “ATIKU FOR PRESIDENT” at the national convention held in the conference hall of the International Grand Corona Hotel, Sao Paulo, Brazil

While declaring the convention open, the President of the Brazil chapter of PDP, Mr Innocent Ebere Ukanyirioha called on all Nigerians in the diaspora to support PDP and vote for Atiku as the next Democratic President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria if they want a change for the better.

He cited in his speech the report personally given to him in 2015 by the then former President Olusegun Obasanjo who visited and participated in the 2015 convention held in Brazil, saying: “I promised you the last time that I will  perform if voted in as the president and I did as I promised.”

The Vice President of the group, Alhaji Akin Apena, said, “The Buhari government is a failure, a corrupt government with a style.”

He listed the reasons why PDP must rule again.

According to him, the good projects started by the former President Goodluck Jonathan has been ignored by the present government trying to combat corruption using corruption. He also called on all Nigerians in the diaspora to give Peter Obi the credit he deserves by voting for Atiku.

The group’s spokesman, Uzochukwu Agbodike also declared: “We will bring Atiku to Brazil as we brought Obasanjo!”

He added that conventions shall be held, in all the states of Brazil, to campaign for Atiku as the next leader of Africa’s most populous nation.

The presence of Architect Michael Adeyemi was very significant at the occasion as the successes of the past PDP leaders in Nigeria were made known to the Nigerians in the diaspora.

Dr Chukwudi Mojekwu, in a brief speech at the occasion, called on all Nigerian families in the diaspora to join hands and lay Nigeria again on the right paths by refusing the APC-led government any chance of getting to Aso Rock again come next year.
