British–Nigerian boxing star, Anthony Joshua, has been involved in a serious road accident on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
The crash occurred on Monday, around 11am in the Makun area of the expressway, close to the Danco Filling Station.
According to eyewitness accounts and first responders, the Lexus SUV in which Joshua was travelling collided with a stationary truck on the busy highway.
The exact cause of the collision remains under investigation by officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other traffic authorities.
Emergency responders and bystanders assisted at the scene.
Joshua, 36, sustained minor injuries and was treated on site before being taken for further medical evaluation.
Tragically, two occupants of the vehicle were confirmed dead at the scene. Their identities have not yet been released.
The incident has led to significant traffic disruption along the expressway as rescue and law enforcement teams managed the situation.
Authorities have appealed for motorists to exercise caution and to refrain from sharing unverified information as details continue to emerge.
Fans and well-wishers have expressed concern and relief online over Joshua’s condition following the crash.
There has been no official statement yet from Joshua’s management or representatives, though boxing promoter, Eddie Hearn, reportedly commented that Joshua appeared to be unharmed based on available footage.
