The Bollywood remake of Nollywood blockbuster, Elevator Baby, is set for release in India.
The movie, produced by Niyi Akinmolayan’s Anthills Studios, last year, featured Nollywood star, Toyin Abraham and Timini Egbuson, in lead roles.
It also marked the directorial debut of South African-trained and fast rising movie director, Akhigbe Ilozobhie, popularly known as Akay Mason in the Nigerian movie industry.
Akinmolayan who made the development known in a post via his Twitter handle, @niyiakinmolayam, today, said a film producer in India, after watching the movie, had called him to buy the rights for its remake.
“He had fallen in love with the story and wanted to buy the rights for a remake. I thought it was a joke o…until dollars entered my akant!!! They made a really beautiful Indian version and I can’t wait to watch it. Elevatorbaby was a labour of love and was so much hard work,” Akinmolayan further wrote.
