Several people were reportedly killed by suspected Boko Haram insurgents who attacked Kukawa town in Borno State yesterday night.
Kukawa is located in Kukawa Local Government Area, close to Lake Chad.
The news of the attack was shared on Twitter by exiled Nigerian journalist, Ahmed Salkida.
Salkida’s tweet reads: “There was an attack last night in Kukawa, I didn’t report because I hate to be the first bearer of bad news Surprisingly a major attack like this is yet to make it to the news. Many lives were lost. Lethal equipment have found their way into the hands of those bent on destroying us.”
Boko Haram insurgents also killed 13 people when they attacked two villages overnight in the restive town of Konduga in Borno State, on November 1.
This was followed by another attack on a military position in Azare, Yobe State, on November 2, which claimed an unconfirmed number of Nigerian soldiers.
