One man accused of ballot box snatching was set ablaze at the Okota area of Lagos today, three killed in Abonnema, Rivers State and another was shot to death in Oyo as observers generally describe the Presidential and National Assembly elections peaceful in most parts of the country.
In Okota area of Lagos, irate mob seriously injured a man identified as Demola and later set him ablaze for allegedly leading thugs to disrupt election in the area.
The victim was also identified as a leader of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) in Okota area.

In Bayelsa, Reginald Dei, a photographer from the Government House was reportedly killed.
NewsmakersNG also learnt that a teenager identified as Monsuru, was shot to death by suspected thugs known as ‘One Million Boys’ in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The state police spokesman, Gbenga Fadeyi, confirmed the incident but described the shooting as accidental discharge.
The Oyo State incident occurred at Polling Unit 2 of Ibadan South East local government, where a former Nigerian Ambassador to Jordan, Taofeek Arapaja, cast his vote. The boy also described as a young school leaver was shot by thugs after the counting of votes had started in some polling units.
According to eyewitnesses account, trouble started when some members of some political parties started removing the banners and posters of other parties in the vicinity and replacing them with those of their candidates.
An eyewitness said, “The boy, Monsuru, who just finished his secondary education at St Luke’s College in Molete, Ibadan was mowed down by the thugs. Many residents believe the thugs belong to the group called ‘One Million Boys.
“Votes were being collated when the assailants came into Lako Compound, Kudeti, the same ward where Ambassador Arapaja voted and they started shooting sporadically. It led to the death of Monsuru.”
