A night of music and revelry turned deadly at a hotel along Community Road, Abule-Ado, as a DJ was brutally murdered in a brazen attack, according to police reports.
The police told NewsmakersNG that the incident, which occurred at about 9:30 PM yesterday, saw a group of armed men storm the establishment, opening fire on the DJ, Victor Dickson, 32, while he performed on stage. The assailants also inflicted severe machete wounds before fleeing the scene.
Responding swiftly to the distress call, police officers initiated a hot pursuit, tracking the suspects as they escaped towards Festac. With the assistance of local vigilantes, law enforcement successfully apprehended one of the alleged attackers, Christian Chukwudi, 35, also known as “Marshall General.”
Chukwudi was identified by the police as a notorious robber and cultist who has been terrorizing the area. He was reportedly caught in Festac while attempting to escape.
A search of the suspect yielded a locally fabricated shotgun and one live cartridge. An additional live cartridge was recovered at the scene of the crime.
Lagos police spokesman, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin said that preliminary investigations have identified Chukwudi as a leading member of a local cult group.
Tragically, Victor Dickson succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.

Hundeyin stated: “Photographs of the deceased were taken, and the body was subsequently transported to the General Hospital Yaba morgue.
“Preliminary investigation is in progress. The arrested suspect and recovered exhibits will be transferred for consolidation of the case.”
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the escalating violence and the persistent threat of cult-related activities in the area.
Authorities say they are continuing their investigation to apprehend the remaining suspects and bring them to justice.
