Bishop Francis Wale Oke has been reelected as the National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) at the organisation’s 18th National Biennial Conference holding from February 11 to 14, 2025, in Abuja.
His initial election was in March 2021, marking a four-year tenure.
Under Bishop Oke’s leadership, the PFN has emphasised honouring its founding fathers, strengthening ties with key Christian leaders across Nigeria.
The fellowship has actively participated in milestone celebrations of revered figures such as Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, and Bishop David Oyedepo, reinforcing the bonds between current leadership and the pioneers of the Pentecostal movement in Nigeria.
Despite facing challenges, including a recent media campaign aimed at discrediting his tenure, Bishop Oke has maintained a focus on unity and progress.
Stakeholders within the PFN have condemned these negative portrayals, describing them as baseless and driven by selfish political motives.
Dr. Emmah Gospel Isong, the PFN’s National Publicity Secretary, clarified that certain remarks attributed to Archbishop Margaret Idahosa were taken out of context and were, in fact, lighthearted comments made during a celebratory event.
Oke’s reelection is seen by many as a testament to his effective leadership and the positive impact he has had on the fellowship.
Beyond his role in the PFN, Oke is the founder and presiding Bishop of Sword of the Spirit Ministries and serves as the Chancellor of Precious Cornerstone University in Ibadan.
His extensive contributions to Christian ministry and education have solidified his reputation as a prominent leader within Nigeria’s Pentecostal community.
