Be Good Ambassadors, Magu Urges Nigerian Youths

Pat Stephen/

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) boss, Ibrahim Mustapha Magu, has urged Nigerian Youths to be good ambassadors and Agents of Change.

Magu, who spoke through the Zonal Head, Ibadan Office of the Commission, Mohammed Isa  Rabo, made the statement today, while receiving some members of the EFCC/NYSC CDS, Ido-Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State, who paid a courtesy visit to the Ibadan Office.

Rabo said, “The underlying assumption is that the youth hold the key to the fight against corruption and the destinies of generations unborn. There is no shortcut to wealth and fame and therefore you should embrace hard work and stay away from crimes.

“It is gratifying that you believe in what we are doing to salvage the country from corruption. Be change agents across all ages and vocations and foster public support for the fight against economic and financial crimes everywhere you go.”

While welcoming the Corp members, he appreciated their selfless service and commitment to the fight against Corruption.

“I want to thank you all for finding time to visit the Commission and for seeing our cause worthy to associate with”.

The Zonal Head reemphasized that success in the fight against economic crimes, including corruption could only be achieved when all stakeholders, particularly the youths, embrace the fight. He said, “We will continue to encourage youths like you to serve as role models and good ambassadors by shunning all acts of corruption, economic and financial crimes. Always strive to keep the flag flying even well after you have finished your national service.”

Responding to the Chairman’s remarks,  Ubi, Loveson Patrick, President of the group commended the Commission’s efforts in the fight against corruption. He thereafter pledged on behalf of the entire group their continual support to the mission of the EFCC.

“Our support will not only end for us as Corps Members but will continue till our dying days. It is a commitment we have made to contribute to the efforts of the government in her quest to rid the country of all shades and forms of corruption,” he said.
