Bayelsa: Hoodlums Invade Diri’s House in Yenegoa

Matilda Omonaiye/

Hoodlums suspected to belong to the All Progressives Congress (APC) have sacked the Yenegoa residence of Douye Diri, the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate in the November 2019 governorship election in Bayelsa State.

The development followed the issuances of Certificate of Return to Diri as the governor-elect of the state by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) this afternoon in Abuja.

The hoodlums vandalised vehicles and also destroyed some parts of the building.

The APC candidate, David Lyon, who won the election was sacked by the Supreme Court yesterday after it ruled that his running mate presented a forged certificate to INEC.
