Suspected bandits, yesterday, kidnapped the Wazirin Wusasa, Prof. Aliyu Mohammed, from his residence in Wusasa, Zaria local government area of Kaduna State.
His son, Abdulaziz Aliyu, was also killed by the bandits
The Professor’s nephew, identified as Abba Kabiru, who was in the residence when the incident happened was shot and injured.
The State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, confirmed the incident, today.
Aruwan said suspected bandits also killed three other persons, including two vigilante members, and one other in separate attacks in Igabi and Giwa local government areas.
He added that the state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, had commiserated with the families of slain persons.
“Governor Nasir El-Rufai on receiving the reports, sent condolences to the families of the slain residents and vigilantes, praying for the repose of their souls. He also prayed for speedy recovery for the injured.
“The Governor also thanked the military for the swift response in deploying forces to the affected community in Giwa local government area,” Aruwan stated.
