More than 300 schoolgirls have reportedly been kidnapped early today by bandits in Zamfara State, as the government is still making efforts to liberate several students and staff abducted at a school in Kagara, Niger State.
According to a report linked to the BBC Hausa Service the bandits raided the Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The report says over 300 schoolgirls were abducted. No demand has been made by the abductors as at the time of writing this report.
Ten days earlier, students, staff and family members were kidnapped at Government Science College, Kagara, in Niger State.
