Gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted the traditional ruler of Bayagan, the Ojibara, Oba Kamilu Salami, in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, according to a report by Channels Television.
The monarch was reportedly kidnapped in the early hours of Saturday while on his farm.
Details surrounding the incident remain unclear as at the time of the report.
Residents of the community said the attack occurred suddenly, throwing the town into fear and confusion.
As at the time of filing this report, the Kwara State Police Command had yet to officially confirm the abduction or provide further details on efforts to rescue the traditional ruler and apprehend the perpetrators.
