Banditry: Zamfara Investigates 5 Emirs, 33 District Heads, 10 Military Officers, 4 Policemen

Zamfara State governor, Dr. Bello Matawalle, has revealed that security agencies are investigating the suspected involvement of some emirs and security officials in the spate of kidnapping and banditry in the state.

The governor disclosed this in a Twitter post via @Bellomatawalle1, today.

He listed those being probed to include five emirs, 33 district heads, 10 military officers and four police officers.

He said any of them found to be culpable would face the full wrath of the law.

His tweet read: “5 emirs, 33 district heads, 4 police and 10 military officers are under investigation as we believe they’re involved in the atrocities happening in the state. If found guilty of aiding and abetting bandits, they will face the full wrath of the law. No punishment is too severe.”
