Segun Atanda/

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared an indefinite nationwide strike from today.

ASUU said the strike was to protest the poor funding of Nigerian universities.

National President of ASUU, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, announced the decision at the end of its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) in Ondo State.

All academic staff of universities were consequently directed to withdraw their services with immediate effect.
