Pat Stevens/

Senator Elisha Abbo was arraigned on one count of assault before a Zuba Magistrates’ Court in Abuja today.

The senator, who pleaded not guilty to charge, was granted bail in the sum of five million naira.

He was arraigned by the Federal Capital Territory Police Command before Senior Magistrate Abdullahi Ilellah.

The senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District had admitted to the offence and also apologised to Nigerians, following a viral video in which he was seen physically assaulting a nursing mother.

Dressed in a blue attire with a pair of black shoes and native cap, the accused was brought to the court where he took his plea in the dock.
