The Nigerian Army has described online reports that it was recruiting candidates for its Direct Short Service Course as fake.
It also disowned a recruitment portal on which prospective candidates were being asked to apply online.
It disclosed this in a series of tweets via its verified handle, @HQNigerianArmy, this evening.
The tweet read: “The news of Army Direct Short Service (DSS) Course 25 shortlistment currently circulating on the social media is fake. Members of the Public are hereby informed that the Army has not advertised for DSSC Course 25 Shortlistment excercise.
“Moreover application forms for joining the army are not for sale. The Nigerian Army does not sell application forms to prospective candidates.
“Members of the public are hereby cautioned and advised to disregard the deceitful information/fake advert.”
