A group has called on Nigerians to remember fallen heroes and their families in prayers as the country marks this year’s Armed Forces  Remembrance Day.

The advocacy group, Prayer and Support for the Nigerian Armed Forces and other Security Agencies (PSNAFSA) sought the support of stakeholders of traditional and civil institutions, with a view to galvanising  community support for the  Armed Forces and other security agencies.

The group, which was established in March 2021, also appealed to relevant authorities and Nigerians not to celebrate the day  alone but to remember the widows and orphans of our fallen heroes.

Besides,  #PSNAFSA stated that the fallen heroes should not be remembered only during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day but every day “for paying the supreme price for our safety and the territorial defence of our dear nation Nigeria”.

The group stated: “For those still alive and staking their lives at various theatre of wars, it is pertinent to pray and support them with every available information and well wishes.”

In the same vein, the  advocacy group appealed to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari to continue to provide the Armed Forces with all necessary platforms needed to carry out their constitutional obligations.

“While members of the group appreciated the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Lucky Irabor and the Service Chiefs for the recent victory  recorded in the onslaught against Kidnapping, Banditry, Pipeline vandalism and other crimes, we  also appeal to the Media, especially  online bloggers, to be patriotic in their reportage on  the armed forces and other Security agencies, bearing in mind national interest,” Mary Abayomi  Fatile, the Convener, #Prayer and Support for the Nigerian Armed Forces and other Security Agencies stated.
