The Deputy Governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Engr (Mrs) Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has disclosed that the party would embark on
Salako-Oyedele made the disclosure while receiving the officers of Noimot Salako-Oyedele (NSO) Frontiers to a breakfast meeting at her country-home in Ota GRA, Ogun State where she lamented that residents across the state are unnecessarily being put through hardship arising from lack of basic needs of life, particularly potable water, electricity, access roads et al.
She emphasized that the Dapo Abiodun/Noimot Salako-Oyedele team would hit the ground running to urgently rescue the state from the current unfortunate situation owing to misplaced priority by the Governor Ibikunle Amosun-led administration, just as she listed some of what she called “the pitiable experiences” garnered during the ward to ward campaign tours to remote areas of the state.
She said, “I can’t believe or imagine it, if I didn’t witness it myself that a community in a state like ours doesn’t have access to drinkable water and people rely on a stream several miles far from them in this 21st century.
“In fact, Idagolu is a small village near Ilisan and it was said to have been without potable water for about 16 years. Funnily, this community is just about an hour, 20 minutes’ drive from Lagos. I can go on and on.
“There is another place where the people said their bad road was last tarred by the late Pa Awolowo’s government. Hence, we’re embarking on urgent rescue mission whereby the infrastructural resources of the state would be deployed to every nook and cranny, no matter how remote the communities are and they shall also be prioritized based on each locality’s peculiar needs.”
The Coordinator of NSO Frontiers, Alhaji AbdulKabir Adeshina Onifade, said the breakfast meeting was to congratulate the governorship candidate, his running mate and all elders/leaders of APC in the state on the party’s victory in the February 23 presidential and National Assembly polls and also to assure them that the group is still solidly behind APC and would not relent in supporting the party across board in the forthcoming governorship and state assemblies elections on March 9.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of APC in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Pastor David Ogundare, commended the immense support of NSO Frontiers towards victory for the party in the just concluded and the forthcoming elections across the state.
