An All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for Igando-Ikotun local council development area in today’s local government election, Hon. Shakiru Balogun, popularly known as SAB, has died in an automobile accident, on Friday.
The development has created a lot of tensions in the area, with scores of the deceased’s supporters mourning his death.
Balogun died along with three other occupants of the Toyota 4Runner they were riding in when the accident occurred, around Oko Filling bus stop, along the LASU-Igando expressway, about 12.30pm.
Eyewitnesses said a PSP waste disposal truck, which got out control, crushed the deceased’s vehicle, killing all the occupants.
Newsmakers was unable to get any official confirmation of the incident at the time of filing this report.
