The Dan Iyan of Kano and district head of Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area of Kano State, Alhaji Yusuf Bayero, is dead.
NewsmakersNG learnt that Bayero died yesterday night, aged 87.
Although the cause of his death is yet to be made public, the late monarch will be buried today according to Islamic rites.
Kano had lost scores of prominent persons since the outbreak of COVID-19 in the state, including the Emir of Rano, Dr Tafida Abubakar Ila II, who died after a brief illness.
