Angry youths in Warri, Delta State, today, set fire to the atm booth of an Access Bank branch while protesting against the persisting scarcity of naira notes.
Footages shared on Twitter show the protesting youths disrupting vehicular movements and destroying properties around the Udu road axis.
An eyewitness, @sabiboiharry, who shared videos of the protest, wrote, “Breaking! Massive protests are ongoing in Warri, around the Udu road axis, over the CBN’s order to stop the old Naira as legal tender. Access Bank on fire.”
Meanwhile, reports say the naira scarcity protest has spread to Ilorin, Kwara State, where youths have also taken to the streets to express their grievance.
Similarly, youths have taken to major roads to protest over the naira and fuel scarcity in Benin, Edo State.
