The Anambra State Police Command has strengthened its fight against crime with the acquisition of a new Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) delivered on July 28, 2025, to enhance its operational capacity across the state.

Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, received the APC at the State Police Headquarters and described it as a “critical asset” for tackling emerging security threats and maintaining peace, law, and order in Anambra.

He expressed appreciation to the Nigeria Police Force leadership for the timely provision of the equipment, commending the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for his proactive efforts in boosting logistics, welfare, and morale among officers nationwide.

“This APC will significantly improve our response to security challenges, ensuring more effective law enforcement and protection of citizens,” CP Orutugu said.

Police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property, urging residents to continue partnering with the police to build a safer Anambra.

The new APC is expected to bolster ongoing operations against crime and further reassure the public of the police’s resolve to maintain security in the state.
