Former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, has been named Chairman of the 7th Anniversary Lecture of Penpushing Media, scheduled to take place on July 31, 2025, at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The announcement was made in a joint statement by the Chairperson of the anniversary planning committee, Dr. Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi, and the Secretary, Sina Adefolahan, who confirmed the diplomat’s acceptance and commitment to attend the event in person.
“I am proud to be associated with the Penpushing team, and as a member, I am honoured to chair the event,” Isola said. “I am also convinced about the journalism role of Penpushing Media, which today has made it a household name globally in the media industry.”
Ambassador Isola brings a wealth of experience to the ceremony, having served in both public and private sectors. Appointed High Commissioner to the UK by former President Muhammadu Buhari in January 2021, Isola also previously held key national roles, including Minister of Mines and Steel Development (2007–2008) and Secretary to the Ogun State Government (2003–2007).
A recipient of the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR), Isola holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) and is an alumnus of the prestigious Harvard Kennedy School of Government, USA. He began his career in the media with the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC) and later served as Special Assistant to the Minister of Finance in 1999.
The 7th Penpushing Media Anniversary is expected to attract leading voices in journalism, civil society, and governance, celebrating the platform’s impact in promoting ethical journalism and constructive discourse across Nigeria and beyond.
