Ololade Adeyanju/

Governor Olurotimi Akeredolu’s campaign for a second term in office received a boost today from one of the political heavyweights in Ondo State, Senator Donald Omotayo Alasoadura.

Alasoadura who is the minister of state for labour declared on Twitter that he has joined the campaign trail for the re-election of Akeredolu at Igbara Oke, the headquarters of Ifedore local government in Ondo State.

Alasoadura once represented Ondo-central senatorial district in the Senate between 2015 and 2019.

He was the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Petroleum (Upstream), and he got an automatic return ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest in the 2019 Senatorial elections but lost to Ayo Akinyelure of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The APC later rewarded him with a ministerial portfolio.
