Chief Stella Olubukunola Odesanya, the second child and oldest daughter of the patent owner of Alabukun, Jacob Sogboyega Odulate, has died.

The late Odesanya died on August 11, four months to her 99th birthday.

She was buried in Lagos today after a private funeral, where Methodist cleric, Very Reverend Olusola Makindipe, delivered the homily.

She was married to a former Chief Judge of Lagos State, late Justice Michael Odesanya.

She was also elder sister to the first female Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Chief Folake Solanke.

She was a teacher at Queen’s College, Lagos and rose to become Permanent Secretary in the Lagos State Ministry of Education.

She held the national honour of Member of the Federal Republic (MFR).

The late Odulate established Alabukun Patent Medicine Supply Stores in Abeokuta, Ogun State, in 1918, with Alabukun Mentholine Balm as its flagship product.

It was however the production of Alabukun powder, a very popular analgesic, that turned both the brand and Odulate to household names in Nigeria.
