Former Oyo State first lady, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, has accused the state government of playing politics with the death of former Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
A trending video shows Mrs Ajimobi expressing her dissapointment with Governor Seyi Makinde for not commiserating directly with the family over husband’s death.
Mrs Ajimobi who spoke while receiving a delegation of state government led by the deputy governor, Rauf Olaniyan, said it was shocking to her that since her husband took ill, no state government official bothered to call her or check on the family.
“Governor Makinde never called me, I don’t know I have to send an official letter to the government to announce that my husband was ill.
“I never sent to Governor Fayemi, Governor Ganduje or others.
“Even you the Deputy Governor, sir. I am sorry to say this,” she exclaimed.
The deputy governor however explained that he called the former first lady twice but she did not pick up.
To this, she replied that the deputy governor could have sent her a text message.
The deputy governor later joined the Kano State governor, Umar Ganduje, and other dignitaries to pray at the former governor’s graveside.
