AIG Sholla David Elected President as Family Holds Reunion Party, Creates Structures

Retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Sholla David has been elected President of the renowned David David’s Family of Ilesha, Osun State, at a meeting held in Lagos.

According to a statement issued after the meeting and reunion party of the David David Association chaired by Elder Funsho Odeyemi on January 8, 2022, at 35, Adekunle Fajuyi Crescent, GRA, Ikeja, the elected Executives will spend two years in office.

Three family members were also appointed as Head of the Family and Advisers to the new Executives. They are Elder Funsho Odeyemi – Head of Family (Olori Ebi); Mrs. Abiodun Taiwo- Head of Family (Olori Ebi Female), and Elder Tunde Lasore David – (Deputy Head of Family).  

The statement reads in part: “The party was well attended with lots of excitement from family members who came with their children from far and near. We had family members attending from Ilesha, Kano, Kaduna, and Ibadan amongst other places.

“To allow for wider participation in the deliberations at the meeting from family members in the diaspora, a Zoom link was created. This afforded family members from the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Turkey, other parts of Europe and Asia, and other parts of Nigeria to contribute effectively to the meeting.

“The Reunion party and meeting commenced with the Family Anthem and a brief narration of the rich history of the “David David Family” and that of our Patriarch, Late Pa Augustus Adeleye Fakolujo David (David David).

“After lengthy and exhaustive deliberations amidst funfair and brotherly love, the draft “David David Family” Constitution was adopted. As a follow-up, new Executives to pilot the affairs of the Family Association were elected. Furthermore, a “David David Foundation” was also set up for the Welfare and Medicals of the elders in the family and to support Orphanages and Widows in general, with Ms. Tosin David as the Chairperson.”

The members of the Executives elected for a two-year term are as follows:

(4). Mr. Tobi David – Assistant Secretary

(5). Mr. Kunle David – Financial Secretary

(6). Mr. Dayo David – Welfare Officer

(7). Mr. Gbolahan David – Asst. Welfare Officer

(8). Mrs. Toyin Ogunlaiye – Social Secretary

(9). Mrs. Mojisola Akande – Treasurer

(10). Mr. Dipo Dele David – Publicity Secretary

Barrister Semilore Oluwatayo was also appointed to serve as the Legal Adviser to the Executive Committee.
