Barely three months after his retirement, AIG Isaac Akinmoyede succumbed to a protracted illness early today, according to family sources.
Akinmoyede was among officers pulled out at the Police College, Ikeja, on March 22 after 35 years of meritorious service.
He was a pioneer cadet of the Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, Kano – POLAC Course 1/88, and he was among the last set to retire.
He had served in various formations, including being the Commissioner of Police in Imo State, the AIG in charge of Zone 9, Umuahia, and AIG Zone 5, Benin-City.
