Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Bode Ojajuni has emerged as Africa’s Most Outstanding Police Officer of the Year at a ceremony organised by the Development in Africa Merit Awards (DAMA) at the Sheraton Hotels, Lagos.

Those who were also honored at the event organised by Delta Business School included Fidelity Trust Bank that received Africa’s Best Bank in Lending and Recovery award, Universal School of Aviation, Mofazat Private School, Eagle Global Bank, Mazi Sam Uche Anyamele, and Dr Uzu Onyemaechi Robert, the Managing Director, Herbal Products and Services Ltd, who delivered a lecture highlighting the need for Africans to appreciate and support homemade herbal medicine instead of patronizing foreign herbal products and developing other people’s economy.

He said, “We need to change our mindset… India is the world’s second largest exporter of medicinal plants after China and it’s making over $2.5 billion annually. Herbal Medicine can do better than crude oil in African foreign exchange earning.”

It was the second time in one week that Ojajuni’s worth was recognized by members of the public he serves and a sister agency of the police – the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

Earlier in the week, the Unit Commander, FRSC RS2 14 Lagos Island, ACC Hauwa T. Olowookere honoured Ojajuni with Outstanding Award during the FRSC 2nd Quarter Retreat for Regular and Special Marshals on May 18.
