The Ogun State Government has applauded the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Olatunji Disu for the swift deployment of an operational police aircraft to bolster security operations and intensify the ongoing crackdown on kidnappers, bandits, and other criminal elements across the state.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, who had requested the deployment as part of efforts to reinforce Ogun’s security architecture, praised the Inspector-General for approving the request without delay, describing the move as a major boost to the state’s fight against insecurity.
Receiving the aircraft and its crew on behalf of the state government, the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, conveyed the governor’s appreciation to the IGP for his prompt response and steadfast commitment to protecting lives and property in Ogun State.
Talabi said the operational aircraft would significantly improve aerial surveillance, intelligence gathering, and rapid response capabilities of security agencies, providing a strategic advantage in tracking and neutralising criminal activities across difficult terrains.
He noted that the deployment further demonstrates the strong partnership between the Ogun State Government and the Nigeria Police Force, adding that the collaboration has continued to deliver tangible results in safeguarding residents and protecting critical infrastructure.
According to him, the aircraft will play a vital role in strengthening Operation Kosaye, the ongoing joint security initiative designed to flush out kidnappers, bandits, and other criminal elements hiding in forests, border communities, and identified criminal flashpoints across the state.
Talabi reiterated the state government’s resolve to sustain support for security agencies, stressing that Governor Abiodun remains committed to investing in measures that guarantee peace, public safety, and an enabling environment for economic growth.
The deployment comes as Ogun State continues to intensify coordinated security operations aimed at curbing violent crimes and reinforcing public confidence in the state’s security framework.
