Kidnappers have abducted a customs officer, Mrs Comfort Alaba in a black Murano Jeep, in Lagos.

News of the kidnap was broken on Twitter by the victim’s daughter, Faith.

Faith posted on her Twitter handle – @Pyt_Faith: “Pls RT my mum was kidnapped this evening in front of me & my younger sista in a black Murano jeep. Pls help me.”

She posted the message on Tuesday night, shortly after the abduction.

We were at TFC at 22 Road, FESTAC; outside in the car and two men came around. My sister ran out of the car. My mother was still screaming and struggling when the other one pointed a gun at me.

Mrs Alaba was later identified as a staff of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).

She was abducted by a 2-man gang outside Tastee Fried Chicken (TFC) outlet on 22 Road, FESTAC Town at about 8pm.

Newsmakers learnt that the kidnappers were masked.

Faith said:  “We were at TFC at 22 Road, FESTAC; outside in the car and two men came around.

“My sister ran out of the car. My mother was still screaming and struggling when the other one pointed a gun at me.

“We ran away and by the time we looked back as we were screaming for help, they zoomed off.

“Please, reach me and my family on 08166098469. Our mother was taken away in a black Murano Jeep with Tag. No. EPE103CY.”

“My mother is smallish in stature. She has a gap in her teeth and has a huge birthmark on her arm, which is arrow-like shaped.”

The Customs spokesman at Tincan Island, Uche Ejesieme, confirmed the incident.

He said: “The office has informed Customs headquarters in Abuja about the development. The lady is attached to SDV, one of custom’s bonded terminal under Tincan Island Command.

“The family has reported to the police and the police are investigating with a view to rescue her.”

Lagos police spokesperson, SP Dolapo Badmos, also confirmed the incident. She said that the police were working on Mrs Alaba’s release.
