In a remarkable gesture of goodwill and development, the Osun State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo, yesterday, visited the palace of the Orangun of Ila-Orangun, HRM Oba Abdulwahab Kayode Oyedotun.

The visit marked a significant milestone as the commissioner announced plans to rehabilitate and dualise the major township road in Ila-Orangun, bringing the dividends of democracy to the ancient town.

During the visit, Jenyo called on the people of Ila-Orangun to cooperate with road construction workers to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of the project.

He emphasised the need for community support, stating that their collaboration would facilitate a hitch-free construction process and timely completion of the road project.

Addressing the elders and the Orangun-In-Council at the palace, Jenyo revealed that the Osun State Governor, Sen. Ademola Adeleke, would soon flag off the road dualisation project.

The project is part of the governor’s commitment to fulfilling electoral promises, improving infrastructure, and enhancing the welfare of citizens.

“This road project is a testament to Governor Adeleke’s dedication to service and the transformation agenda of his administration,” Jenyo stated.

He also highlighted plans to attract local and international investors to Ila-Orangun, which would boost the town’s economic prospects and create opportunities for its residents.

In his response, the Ejemu of Ila-Orangun, Chief Paul Ogunrinade, lauded Jenyo for his unwavering contributions to the development of the town.

He acknowledged the commissioner’s consistent efforts to uplift the community, describing him as a “son of the soil” who has positively impacted both local and diaspora indigenes.

“Rev. Jenyo has always been a beacon of hope for Ila-Orangun. This road project is another feather in his cap,” Ogunrinade remarked.

Oba Oyedotun expressed profound gratitude to Governor Adeleke for prioritising Ila-Orangun in his administration’s developmental agenda.

The monarch commended Jenyo for his instrumental role in ensuring the town’s inclusion in the government’s infrastructure plans.

“This is a historic moment for Ila-Orangun. Rev. Jenyo’s dedication to his hometown will be remembered for generations to come,” Oba Oyedotun stated.

He assured the government of the community’s full support and pledged continued loyalty to Adeleke’s administration.

The Orangun of Ila-Orangun also reaffirmed the community’s commitment to supporting the governor’s second-term bid in 2026.

“Ila-Orangun voted massively for Governor Adeleke in 2022, and we will do so again in 2026. One good term deserves another,” the monarch declared
