Gene Hackman, the celebrated Hollywood actor known for his iconic roles in “The French Connection” and “Unforgiven,” has tragically passed away alongside his wife, Betsy Arakawa.

The couple was found dead in their Santa Fe, New Mexico home, along with their dog.

The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the discovery, stating that there were no initial signs of foul play.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of death.

Hackman, 95, enjoyed an illustrious career that spanned over six decades, earning two Academy Awards and recognition as one of Hollywood’s greatest actors.

He retired from acting in 2004, choosing to live a private life focused on writing and personal interests.

Betsy Arakawa, 64, a classical pianist, married Hackman in 1991. The couple had been living quietly in Santa Fe, away from the spotlight.

Hackman is survived by his three children from his previous marriage to Faye Maltese.

The news has left the entertainment industry in shock, with tributes pouring in for Hackman’s enduring legacy as a cinematic icon and his lasting impact on Hollywood storytelling.
