The Lagos State Police Command intensified its enforcement of the mandatory Third Party Motor Insurance today, deploying traffic officers to key locations, including Oshodi Expressway, Maryland, and Allen Avenue.
The exercise, part of the state-wide crackdown, aims to ensure that all motorists comply with the insurance law, which protects road users against financial risks in the event of an accident.
Commissioner of Police (CP) Olanrewaju Ishola, has called on vehicle owners to cooperate with enforcement officers and adhere to the regulations to avoid penalties. He reiterated that compliance is not just a legal obligation but a safeguard for all road users.
The operation is expected to continue across Lagos, with police officers maintaining a presence on major roads to ensure full adherence to the insurance requirement. Motorists are urged to take immediate action to secure valid Third Party Insurance to avoid fines or other enforcement measures.
