Tragedy struck in Lagos this morning as a suspected drunk driver killed four soldiers and left several others injured.

The soldiers, attached to the Myoung Barracks in Somolu, were conducting their routine road jogging outside the barracks when a Toyota vehicle, driven at high speed, plowed into them.

The vehicle, reportedly occupied by three young men suspected to be internet fraudsters (commonly known as “Yahoo Boys”), struck the soldiers during their monthly morning drills.

Witnesses say the driver appeared to be intoxicated, losing control and barreling into the soldiers, causing immediate chaos.

The impact left four soldiers dead and several others injured. In the aftermath, one of the suspects fled the scene, while the other two were apprehended by the enraged locals.

The two were reportedly beaten severely, and their vehicle was vandalized by the crowd.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with residents expressing fear and anger over the senseless violence.

The authorities have launched an investigation, and the suspects remain in custody.
