An officer of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), identified as Remedy Yange, was discovered dead at Anthony Bus Stop in Lagos this morning.
The 35-year-old operative, originally from Benue State, was reportedly on leave to visit his family in Lagos.
A video circulating on social media shows Yange’s lifeless body by the roadside, with passersby attempting to identify him. His identity was confirmed through an EFCC identity card found in a bag beside his body.
EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the incident, stating that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of Yange’s death.
This marks the second reported death of an EFCC operative in recent times; on January 19, Assistant Superintendent Officer Aminu Salisu was killed in Anambra State.
The EFCC has not released further details, and authorities are urging the public to await official statements as investigations continue.
