A pastor has reportedly been shot to death at Idiroko, Ogun State, when gunmen stormed a Celestial Church in the area, during Sunday service, killing the pastor, Yomi Adetula, who was also the local leader of the So-Safe Corps.

The attackers, armed and numbering six, reportedly disrupted the service, targeting him while he preached from the pulpit.

Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with worshippers fleeing for safety amid the assault.

The assailants ensured their victim did not survive before fleeing the scene.

State Commander of the So-Safe Corps, Soji Ganzallo, confirmed the incident, calling it a tragic loss.

He assured the public that investigations are underway to uncover the identities of the attackers and their motives.

The gruesome nature of the act has left the community in shock, with calls for swift justice.

Authorities have urged anyone with information to assist in the ongoing investigation.
