Lagos, Nigeria – The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) welcomed nearly 3000 youths from diverse backgrounds to its headquarters in Ikotun-Egbe, Lagos, for the inaugural Youth Convention, organized by the TB Joshua Foundation.

Themed “Legacy of Purpose – Investing in a Life that Outlives Us,” the convention aimed to inspire and equip young people for purposeful living.

Opening the convention, Pastor Evelyn Joshua, SCOAN’s leader, emphasized the critical role of youth as future leaders. She underscored the necessity of guiding them on the right paths to foster impactful lives in society.

“In an age when youths face critical challenges, including the erosion of ethical, social, and cultural foundations, it is vital to embrace transformative and impactful experiences like this convention,” Pastor Joshua said.

The convention featured various experts from different professions who shared their knowledge and experiences to educate and inspire the attendees. Pastor Joshua highlighted that the theme, “Legacy of Purpose,” reflects the enduring legacies of SCOAN’s founder, Prophet TB Joshua. She stressed the importance of grounding youths in morals, education, career development, and skills acquisition, urging them to draw closer to God and let His word guide their lives.

Sarah Joshua, Director of the TB Joshua Foundation, spoke about the Foundation’s mission to preserve and invigorate Prophet TB Joshua’s legacies for a better humanity. She announced that 30 youth participants would receive scholarships and support for small and medium businesses, empowering them for a brighter future.

Evangelist Ope Adeyeye echoed the convention’s theme, highlighting the significance of living a purposeful life. “Life on earth is meaningless without purpose. Only a purposeful life can make a lasting impact on others,” he said.

The event featured a variety of engaging activities, including music, dance, and drama. A former cultist shared a powerful testimony about the dangers of wrong friendships and overambition, emphasizing the importance of God’s mercy in his transformation.

A panel discussion moderated by versatile Mining Engineer Woye Olagbaju offered a platform for addressing the challenges faced by today’s youth. The panel included esteemed professionals like international media guru Vimbai, HR expert Dr. Oluwaseun, renowned banker Moji Oguntoyinbo, educationist Professor Ade Ayodeji, Barrister Deji Olabiwonnu, and tourism specialist Mrs. Nneka. The discussion provided valuable insights and guidance for the participants.

Participants expressed their enthusiasm for the convention. Nike Adeyemi said, “It’s wonderful to be here. I enjoyed every bit of it. This kind of program should continue.”

Kolawole Shojonwo added, “Every youth in Nigeria needs to attend this convention. It’s educative and very inspiring.”

Ben Olamide described the experience as “nourishing and enriching”.

In closing, Convention Principal Organizer Promise Joshua thanked SCOAN youths in Akure, Ghana, and supporters worldwide. She expressed optimism about the convention’s impact on the participants and assured them of more future events.

“SCOAN has made a strong statement: Nigerian youths must not be left to navigate life without proper guidance. A stitch in time saves nine,” she said.

With this inaugural convention, SCOAN has underscored its commitment to shaping a better future for Nigerian youth amidst today’s societal challenges.
