President Bola Tinubu has announced a wave of significant appointments across various federal agencies, aimed at enhancing governance and service delivery in Nigeria.

The appointments, subject to Senate confirmation where applicable, reflect the President’s commitment to efficient and effective leadership in critical sectors.

Ms. Omolola Bridget Oloworaran has been appointed as the new Director-General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom). A finance and banking expert with extensive experience, Oloworaran is expected to drive efficiency and superlative performance in regulating Nigeria’s pension industry.

Mr. Oluwaseun Faleye, a legal and corporate finance specialist, has been named the new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF). Additionally, Mrs. Mojisolaoluwa Kehinde Alli-Macaulay, a former lawmaker and expert in women affairs and poverty alleviation, will serve as the Executive Director (Operations) of NSITF. The President envisions a comprehensive repositioning of the NSITF for enhanced social protection and service delivery.

Mr. Saleh Abubakar, a seasoned public administrator, has been appointed as the new Director-General of the National Agency for the Great Green Wall (NAGGW). Abubakar is tasked with combating land degradation, enhancing food security, and building resilience to climate change through sustainable interventions.

Mr. Baffa Dan Agundi, a former majority leader of the Kano State House of Assembly, has been appointed as the Director-General of the National Productivity Centre (NPC). His mandate is to foster a culture of excellence in operational efficiency and institutionalize a performance-driven orientation toward productivity.

Mr. Umar Ibrahim Mohammed, an architect and environment professional, has been appointed as the new Director-General of the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA). Mohammed will oversee the operation and maintenance of hydrological stations nationwide and carry out groundwater exploration and monitoring.

Mr. Silas Agara, an entrepreneur and sports administrator, has been named the new Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE). Agara, who previously served as the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, is expected to lead efforts in combating mass unemployment through innovative programs.

Mr. Cornelius Oluwasegun Adebayo, an engineer and community development expert, has been appointed as the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA). Adebayo’s role will involve supporting and driving the growth of Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

Dr. Olufemi Adekanmbi, a member of the Nigerian Environmental Society and former Commissioner for Special Duties in Ondo State, has been appointed as the Project Coordinator for the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP). Adekanmbi is expected to lead efforts in restoring and revitalizing communities impacted by hydrocarbon pollution, particularly in Ogoniland.

These appointments reflect Tinubu’s strategic vision for a dynamic and efficient administration, with a focus on expertise, dedication, and professionalism to drive Nigeria’s development goals.
