The planning committee for the 6th annual anniversary lecture of Penpushing Media, a globally recognized online newspaper and television platform, has announced July 25, 2024, as the date for this year’s event.

Dr. Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi, the chairperson of the committee, disclosed this to journalists, noting that the theme for this year’s lecture is “National Balance: Infrastructure, Institutional Capacity, Diversity as Tools for Building Blocks and Good Governance.”

The event, designed to be both educational and a contribution to social growth, will be held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) auditorium, located along Presidential Boulevard in Abeokuta.

The committee, chaired by Akiyode-Afolabi, has already commenced preparations for the event and plans to continue raising public awareness about the lecture’s importance for national cohesion. The committee is also reaching out to members of the Penpushing platform and other stakeholders to ensure the event’s success, expressing optimism for a well-executed lecture.

Additional details, including the identities of key personalities and their roles, will be announced in due course.

Akiyode-Afolabi highlighted that previous anniversary lectures have underscored Penpushing Media’s significance not only in journalism worldwide but also in its societal impact. She assured that this year’s edition would continue this tradition of excellence.

Penpushing Media was established with the mission of adding value to journalism by ensuring credible news sources globally. Last year’s lecture, held on July 25, 2023, focused on “The Burden of Inclusivity and Nigeria’s Democracy,” presented by Prof. Suleiman Bogoro, former Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).

Penpushing Media received its registration certificate from the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on June 1, 2017. Its corporate headquarters is in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
