After a prolonged battle with Leukemia and prostate cancer, Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu CON, SAN has died early today at a hospital in Germany according to media reports. He was 67.
A government official who confirmed the death said Ondo State has been thrown into a mourning mood during this festive period.
Akeredolu led the charge in the establishment of the Western Nigeria Security Network codenamed Operation Amotekun which was launched on January 9, 2020, in Ibadan, Oyo State, as the first regional security outfit initiated by a geopolitical zone in Nigeria to defend the Southwest that was under terrorists attack.
