The Soun-elect, Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, was this morning enthroned as the new Ogbomoso monarch amidst a crowd of ecstatic natives at the palace grounds.

The ceremony was performed at Abata by the kingmakers led by the Areago High Chief Sobalaje Otolorin, at about 8am, after Olaoye arrived Ogbomoso in a private helicopter.

He is billed to commence the traditional rites soon.

Olaoye’s enthronement, Newsmakerslive.org learned, did not contravene yesterday’s order of an Oyo State High Court restraining the government and kingmakers from installing him, as the kingmakers said they did not receive any court injunction restraining them from installing the new Soun of Ogbomoso.

Justice K.A Adedokun gave the order while ruling on a motion ex-parte filed by one of the contenders for the Soun of Ogbomoso stool, Prince Muhammed Kabir Olaoye.

The new Oba is proclaimed His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III.
